Project-based legal advisory for individuals and businesses without ongoing retainership.
What this area covers
Legal consultancy is project-based advisory work: a defined legal question or transaction addressed on its own, without an ongoing retainer. It suits an individual or a business that needs counsel on a specific matter rather than continuing representation.
The output is usually a written legal opinion or a reviewed document a client can act on.

How the engagement works
An engagement begins with a scope agreed at the outset — the question to be answered or the document to be reviewed — so that both the work and its limits are clear. The advice is then delivered in writing, whether as a legal opinion or as comments on a document.
This model is suited to a single, well-defined matter rather than the continuing relationship of a retainer. The terms of each engagement are confirmed in writing before work begins.
